I think even if you're the most ardent atomistic individualist this book and Jacob Levi's Multiculturalism of Fear offer strong liberal/individualist reasons for hopping on board for at certain elements of the multicultural view. May questions are raised, but the author does not provide any answers. This is a long-awaited book. Kymlicka doesn't really say that as I do, but much of what he discusses seems to be related to it.

Kymlicka covers the issues related to each of individual and collective rights, as well as comparing them to each other.

It argues that certain sorts of collective rights for minority cultures are consistent with liberal-democratic principles, and that standard liberal objections to recognizing such rights on grounds of individual freedom, social justice, and national unity can be answered. He provides a really interesting outlook on the ways in which the quest for rights for any group of people can result in conflict. In the world of The Minority Report, Commissioner John Anderton is the one to thank for the lack of crime.
